Have a great summer! 2023-2024 Glenbrook Calendar & Info
It’s hard to believe that we’re already saying goodbye to another finished EGMS school year! We have warmly wished our departing grade 8 students all the best as they transition up to New Westminster Secondary School in September, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone else back in the fall after a fun, safe, relaxing summer break, whether they are current or brand new students!
For those looking to plan ahead, our office team would like to share a few handy links for your reference that may help answer any questions that arise over the break:
- EGMS Calendar 2023-2024
- 2023-2024 School Supply List
- Using School Cash Online (used to fill out start-of year permission forms and pay for field trips and other school events!)

Are you wondering when your child will find out what class they are in and who their teacher will be? In the week before students return to school, please look out for an email from us that will let you know what team your child is on, what time they should arrive to school on that first day (Tuesday September 5th), and what the shape of that day will look like (please note the first day will be a partial day for grade 6/7 students, while grade 8 students will have a full day). When they attend during their designated time period on that day, that is when they will meet their teachers and their classmates!
For those looking to keep the kids busy during July and August, don’t forget to check out New West Youth Services, who run an after-school drop-in program at Glenbrook 3 days a week during the school year. They offer a wide range of summer events, a “Bike New West” program, babysitter training, a summer drop-in schedule, and more!
Are you looking for mental health supports for your child over the summer? Check out this handy list of online & phone-based resources for youth!
Do you have a child with a serious medical condition or allergy that you will need us to be aware of? Does your child require or potentially require the administration of medication at school? Easily find Medical Alert paperwork here, and send it to school with your child in the first week along with their medications!
Do you still have questions? Our staff will be out of the office until the first week of September, but we encourage you to email us at glenbrook@sd40.bc.ca with your queries — we promise to get back to you as soon as we return to work! If your child will be having a delayed start due to vacation, please let us know via our online absence form!
Have a fantastic summer!!!
